1995 Covey Island 43 SF

History

In 1993, Forest Pierce, a prominent fish company owner in Southwest N.S., went to Boston and had Spencer Lincoln, prominent marine architects design a boat for him. They then went to Covey Island Marine Ltd, Petite Riviere N.S. and contracted them to build Seanne I.

They started in 1994 and finished in 1995 when she was launched. The reason they chose Covey Island is that they had a very unique manufacturing process. 

This boat is truly a one off as Forest Pierce owned the plans. It was built to Transport Canada Commercial Fishing Boat Regulations and the boat has a “Blue Book”. The owner used the boat for tuna fishing and cruising for three seasons. At the end of which, due to medical problems, he sold the boat to the current owner where Seanne I has been meticulously maintained, upgraded and stored in a heated warehouse since the year 2000, when it was purchased.

Construction

-Steering is hydraulic
-Shafts are 2 1/4” stainless
- Keel is 4ft deep with a hardwood shoe
- The boat has been painted completely with Awlgrip and clear coated
- The transom is covered with 1” mahogany planks and is coated with Awlgrip Epoxy Varnish
- The anchor is a plow anchor c/w windlass and 200 ft of galvanized chain.
- This vessel carries safety equipment for 30 people.  
- A custom swim platform with stainless telescoping ladder and a chum compartment has been added
- The tower is a Rupp Tuna Tower and Rupp 2 Star outriggers. Both are designed to be easily removed in minutes, leaving a permanent hard top. 
-Generator is an Onan 15k.w. silent operation

- The floor of the cockpit is a 2” composite that will never deteriorate

- Combination fighting chair, that converts to a mahogany table and live bait well

- Twin mahogany helm chairs
- Complete electronics: Radar, GPS, loud hailer/fog horn, VHF fishfinder, depth sounder, auto pilot

- Custom dash with Sunbrella cover
- 2 spotlights
- Chart locker

Cabin

- Propane equipped with sniffer
- Gimball stove and oven
- Fridge and freezer
- Ice Maker
- Air Conditioned
- Chart locked
- Lower helm equipped as per upper helm
- Toilet and closed
- L settee that sleeps two with lubricant, parts, tool storage underneath
- Mahogany table
- Lower helm seat is also storage for cookware

  Lower Cabin   - Queen size bed in main berth
- Flat screen TV and cassette player
- Bunk room with 2 bunks
- Bus heater
- Large head with walk in shower
- Boat is equipped with black water and grey water holding tanks
- The floors are cork and the interior is custom mahogany   Tankage   Fuel: 1400 L

Engines

Twin Caterpillar 3208 375 HP inboard diesel engines.
